Explanation of “B” Teams / Alternates

“A” Team Members are the main players in a Team competition. Each country fields a Team to represent them. This Team is their main team or “A” Team. Because of sickness, financial difficulties and or injuries, each “A” Team should have alternate players to step in and fill gaps if a “A” Team members steps off. “B” Team members are not guaranteed a spot on the “A” Team due to the fact the team may or may not change based on the factors mentioned above.

The UTA will also use “B” Teams in case another country does not filed a team for that particular event. If a “A” Team does not have another “A”Team to compete against then our USA “B” Team will step in and compete. This insures our “A” Team participants a team to compete against.

Note: “B” Teams have no guarantees of a spot opening up on a “A” Team or Team competition the day of the event. These factors can change all the way to the day of the competition.

As players moves on and off teams based on sickness, injuries and or lack of participationor finances. The UTA might hold more than one tryout to replenish the open spots left available to make a full team.

Once a “B” Team member has secured an alternate spot they are expected to make all workouts and special training sessions for their team. By not doing so ex-spells them from their current team and ALL future teams. If for any reason a member cannot attend these workouts or events then they should contact their coach and explain why they must step down. This might keep the door open for future Team participation.

Note: Do not try out if you think their is some reason you may not be able to support your Team 100%. Their will be more Team competition in the future!
